Day 2 – Friday/July 17, 2009
Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel.  Today we tour the WIZARD!  We will split into two groups, each enjoying an exciting tour aboard the Wizard with Captain Keith Colburn.  While one group is touring the boat with Captain Keith and crew, the other group will travel to the Ballard Locks to see one of the most popular destinations along the Lake Washington Ship Canal.  Highlights at Ballard Locks include a tour of the two navigational locks; a dam and spillway; underwater viewing of the salmon ladders; the botanical garden and the visitor’s center.  We will also tour the Blowing Sands Glass Studio where you will have the opportunity to view a local artist blow glass in a studio.  We will all gather for lunch at a local restaurant where we will enjoy lunch in the main dining room.  After lunch, the groups will switch.  After the second group is done touring the Wizard with Captain Keith and crew, we will depart for a tour of Seattle ending in the famous Pike Place Market.  From here it is a short walk to the hotel where you can relax before tonight’s dinner.
Tonight, select members of Captain Keith’s crew will be joining us for dinner and they will tell you their personal stories about being on the Wizard in the Bering Sea!
Day 3 – Saturday/July 18, 2009
Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
After breakfast at the hotel, we depart to the pier for today’s tour: The Northwest Experience at Tillicum Village.  We will take a scenic 60-minute cruise to Blake Island, which includes a narrated tour of Seattle’s Elliot Bay.  Upon arrival, we will be welcomed to Tillicum Village with an appetizer of freshly steamed clams.  Lunch takes place in an authentic cedar longhouse featuring artifacts and woodcarving displays.  Totem poles surround the huge longhouse, styled in the fashion of the ancient communal dwellings of the Northwest Coast First Nations.  We will enjoy a traditional salmon bake where the salmon is cooked over alder fires.  After lunch we will enjoy an exciting program of Native American songs and dances from various Northwest tribes.  The perfect ending to this memorable day is the magnificent view of the Seattle skyline from the water on our return cruise.

This sounds like a great opportunity.

But I have to train someone three weeks to fo my job before I can take a vacation so I need to work on making the trip for all the boats.

I am working on a Deadliest Catch Vacation fund.

I hope the opportunites keep coming.
    Thanks Capt Keith and crew.

  2. Michael Hobbs says:

Send to Keith Colburn. I so hope Keith will see this. I watched him get his head hit HARD on the episode when he scuba dove under his boat. I’m a Paramedic and Neurological Registered Nurse working intensive care. In my observation he definitely lost some consciousness. Though he probably already has done so, he really should be seen by a neurologist/MD for safety. Hope everything remains healthy for him, but it is the type injury that can give you trouble a long while afterward. All best wishes. Andy Harwood // Tennessee
