Several weeks ago the Nordic Heritage Museum–based in Seattle-held an annual fundraising event called the Northern Lights Auktion. Many items were sold through a silent auction with a sold out gala event on the final evening! It was the most successful night for them ever! Sig Hansen had generously donated a VIP trip for 2 to Dutch Harbor, not only so a lucky couple could see the boats that fish King crab, but to hang out on the Northwestern and have dinner with the Northwestern crew. The Winning bid was $8500! See below for details…
Museum NewsNorthern Lights Auktion ReportThe Nordic Heritage Museum’s 2008 Northern Lights Auktion will go on record as our most successful Auktion ever and we have you to thank! Not only did we exceed our financial goals but, we’ve been receiving rave reviews from the sold-out crowd who attended the event on September 21, 2008.
We’d like to extend our sincerest thanks to Museum members, donors, patrons and volunteers for the success of the event. We raised almost $200,000 at the Auktion, nearly $50,000 was raised to further our education mission.
Captain Sig Hansen’s “Deadliest Catch Experience” was certainly one of the big highlights of the evening. Sig Hansen and his wife June attended the event and a great time was had by all! The “Deadliest Catch Experience” was sold on the auction block to Museum supporters Elling and Barbara Halvorsen for $8500!
