Sig Hansen Attending Gloucester Fundraiser June 1st

(Sorry for this late post today)

Capt. Sig Hansen, caption of the F/V Northwestern and featured on the hit show “The Deadliest Catch,” will be a special guest at a fund-raising event tomorrow designed to raise money for rebuilding the playground at Plum Cove School.

The event is set for 7 p.m. at the Gloucester House restaurant. One of the items up for auction at the event will be a case of crab caught by the Northwestern, and shipped to the winning bidder.

For eastcoasters interested in attending, additional details are available at GoodMorning Gloucester, another wordpress blog.  Also, please stay tuned for additional fund raisers and charity events with Sig Hansen/Northwestern crew appearances!

Here are some letters to Sig from the children of Plum Cove School

    Joe –

These thank you messages were written by 2nd graders at Plum Cove. The spelling is unchanged 🙂
Some of them brought me to tears.

Sig is a man whose heart is as BIG as the Bering Sea.
We are grateful for his help. As you can see he did MUCH MORE than help build a playground!

~Thank you Captain Sig Hansen for raising money for our playground . . .
~You have taught us to help people we don’t know.
~I know you don’t do this alot but thank you if it wert for you we would not have a finished playground.
~Deadliest Cach Rocks! p.s. I love your show!
~You have taught me a lesson to help other people.
~Thank you for taking your time to help our school even though we are strangers
    ~p.s. Your the best captain.
