“Deadliest Catch” Ratings

A little bit on the ratings for the season premiere.  It was the highest ratings yet for a “Deadliest Catch” premiere, beat only by the third season finale…Not too shabby!  Here are a couple of reviews.  The first is from Multichannel News and the second is from Mediaweek

Discovery Channel’s Emmy-nominated Deadliest Catch returned Tuesday with its highest audience delivery of any season premiere ever, officials said Wednesday.

Deadliest CatchThe April 15 debuts at 9  p.m. and 10 p.m. garnered 2.50 and 2.59 household ratings and 3.39 million and 3.53 million viewers, respectively. The series airs every Tuesday night at 9 p.m.

Deadliest Catch episodes ‘Striking Out’ and ‘Get’em Back Safe’ also ranked as the No. 1 and No. 2  primetime cable programs for the night among households, persons 25 to 54, men 25 to 54 and men 18 to 49 ratings, according to Discovery Channel official.

Deadliest Catch embarked on its fourth season with the night’s best 25-54 numbers, averaging 2.29 million viewers in the demo in the 9 p.m. slot.

The two-part season premiere of Discovery Channel’s Deadliest Catch reeled in a robust audience Tuesday night, averaging 3.39 million viewers at 9 p.m. and 3.53 million viewers in the 10 p.m. time slot.

Deadliest Catch embarked on its fourth season with the night’s best 25-54 numbers, averaging 2.29 million viewers in the demo in the 9 p.m. slot, while delivering 2.54 million in the lead out.

The twin episodes also garnered 2.29 million adults 18-49 at 9 p.m. and 2.58 million members of the demo at 10.

While the return of Catch whipped up strong ratings for Discovery, the premieres fell short of the high-water mark set by the third-season finale. That episode delivered a series-high 4.07 million viewers and 2.57 million adults 18-49 on June 19, 2007, according to Nielsen Media Research data.
