Bless all crew and families and certainly much aloha comes Phil’s way. Best wishes to all for a safe and happy 2009 – Hauoli Makahiki Hou!
What fun to watch the marathon – I have to admit to going back and forth on Sunday; from “Highway 18″ on the Golf channel (it’s like
what the Amazing Race is but for golfers, it was awesome) and “Deadliest.” One of my very favorite episodes is the “Behind the Scenes”
where we see not only the dangerous job of the fishermen but of the camera men and their crew, what amazing things they do!
Bless all of them too in the coming year! Great Job all and Opilia too! Thanks for a great website!

To Captain Phil H I have watched Deadliest Catch from the start. Can’t seem to find the right place to see how my Favorite Cap’t is fairing. I am 54 going on 55 and having health issues myself. Worried about your health probably more than my own. You know how that is. Focus on someone else, not yourself. How are you, health wise. Will you be able to make the next season. Loved the marathon. Wishing it was a daily thing from now on. Your 2 young Sons seem like the typical nieve at their age (just like us) but commending young gentlemen. I wish you the best and for whatever reason, have had you, My friend in my thoughts and prayers. I am a High Voltage Electrician, and you, my friend, can have the f___ing Bering Sea. I can’t even imagine that. Scary, very scary. You are the Man. Of all the Captains, and I like them all, you are my favorite. Be Cool and take care of yourself and be a hard ass on Jake and Josh. They will carry on. You have to make sure they know it all and then some. Take care my Friend.
I have a daughter in her last year of College. Trying My best to keep her from being a deck hand on the Bering Sea. I would rather allow her to join the Army. And that ain’t happening. I work with 345,000 Volts of electricity on a regular basis and you can have the Bering Sea. I will take my chances. What you do makes me shiver. Good Luck and take care.

Hi Captain Phil,
I am from the Philippines working abroad here in Doha, Qatar. I think i’m the only fan here in Doha of The Deadliest Catch. I’ve been watching the show and looking forward to buy the season in on DVD.
I am looking forward to watch the next season which is 5 and keep on following your every story and your sons plus the whole crew of Cornelia Marie.
I feel like one of your deckhand whenever i watch. I have now in my possession the season 3 & 4 and I always repeat them over and over again.
I was so shocked during the episode 13, 14 & 15 where you were coughing off blood which caused by the blood clot from your leg. I prayed and still praying for your health and hoping to see you on the next season behing the wheels of your baby, Cornelia Marie.
Keep up the strong faith and God be with your journey always…

Capt. Phil,
So sorry about your DVT/PE…had one myself! Check with your docs about whether a Greenfield filter can help get you back on the Cornelia Marie! Hopefully, you won’t have to be on warfarin the rest of your life (that would certainly prevent you from getting back on a crab boat unfortunately). Nevertheless, hope you’re feeling well & at least, looking forward to many happy years to come! I’ve enjoyed your exploits, your crew, & your King crab!!!!

Phil,
Quit smoking!
In case no one has brought it up………your illness
is related to your smoking and your senentary life style.
Yes I know “who does she think she is”.I am a critical care RN and I have worked for 32 years taking care of chronic illness and families in crisis. I have held the hands of dying patients and hugged their family after they died. Their families never understand why.
The saddest thing is there was always a choice.
It has always brought tears to my eyes to see the pain of those left behind.
Why am I telling you this? I have always been attracted to the rebel that stands tall and says what he thinks and without regret lives his life as he sees it. So if you are the man I believe you are listen to your body with
all your senses and do the right thing. Get healthy
and be happy. There is so much the world has to offer.
I speak from personal experience, very similar to yours.
I mean no disrespect and certainly do not wish to add to
your distress. Just someone who cares.

Capt. Phil,
Though I have never met you I feel like I know you. Hang in there and please do as the doctors say; Josh and Jake need you around to keep them safe and make captains out of them as well.
I was so disapointed to watch the season 5 show on April 14th and have to watch you watch your boat leave port without you, I’m sure that was a rough time for you.
How are you today? I have thought about you and your health alot and I pray for you and your family.

Please listen to your doctors and do as they say, they only are looking out for you and your health.
Season 5 won’t be the same without you; I was shocked to see your boat leaving the dock without you (i can only imagine how you felt), Hang in there buddy and I will keep you in my prayers.

TO:JOSH AND JAKE HARRIS,AS WELL AS ALL THE OTHER CREW OF THE MARIE.
