DEADLIEST CATCH      Season 1  Episode Guide    2004/2005 crab seasons

1.  GREENHORNS:  1500 fishermen converge on Dutch Harbor for the start of crab season.  Each man is here for the chance to earn a year’s wages in just one week.

2.  LONG SLEEPLESS NIGHTS:  After a long night of baiting and setting crab pots, the men anxiously await the captain’s call to begin pulling them back up.

3.  LADY LUCK:  Every captain feels the pressure as the Alaskan Department of Fish and Game announces an early closure to the season…just 24 more hours.

4.  BEAT THE CLOCK:  With less then 12 hours remaining, the crews race to bring in as much crab as soon as they can.

5.  DEAD OF WINTER:  With only six hours of daylight, the king crab season winds down and the Opilio “snow” crab frenzy begins, the remaining boats quickly head for the next prize.

6.  MAN OVERBOARD:  With one boat sunk and its crew missing, several good samaritans comb the frigid waters of the Bering Sea for suvivors.  The tragic news travels fast, but those too far away to help concentrate on the baiting and setting of pots.

7.  HIGH HOPES:  Less than a day into the snow crab season, the Bering sea has already claimed six lives.  Despite these losses, the men stay upbeat as they begin to pull in their pots, and the seas begin to calm.

8.  GOOD FISHING:  Unseasonably warm weather and calm seas have contributed to 3 days of record catches.  But, when one boat experiences an electrical fire in the engine room, the crew must scramble to fix the problem.

9.  THE CLOCK’S TICKING:  Eighty-four hours into the Opilio season, the hunt for crab intensifies as rumors of a possible closure prompt the men to push even harder.  Some boats enjoy great success, while others desperately try to make up for their slow start.

10.  THE FINAL RUN:  A new race begins:  back to port.  Each captain decides where to unload their catch, competing for the best spot in line at the processor.  Crab won’t last forever, and a wait could mean tens of thousands of dollars.

Hey Vincent Greene and everyone else looking for jobs READ THIS (pulled directly off this site…)

Finding a fishing job in Alaska isn’t that easy these days, especially on a crab boat. And it’s hard to imagine any skipper hiring someone who simply leaves a name, phone number, or email address. If you’ve got ‘Deadliest Catch’ fever and are serious about pursuing work in Alaska, you’ll most likely have to do the research on your own, and go after the job yourself. Deadliest Reports absolutely has no connection to getting any such work for anyone, but feel free to check out the links below…
