Dutch Harbor, the Crabbroker, and Captain Blake Painter

Even before the Crabbroker has the opportunity to return from his “Crab Connoisseur Tour” held in Dutch Harbor, Alaska this last weekend, it can surely be said that many people–fishermen, skippers, and food industry insiders partook of several great King crab feasts.  The lucky individuals who traveled to Dutch not only went fishing to catch their own King crab, they enjoyed time on the F/V Cornelia Marie, the F/V Timebandit and just last evening, broke bread with none other then Captain Blake Painter and deckboss Scott Templin of the F/V Maverick among others!

It sounded like a great gathering where a very good time was being had by everyone and more details will be available as soon as sponsor–The Crabbroker–has a chance to catch his breath.

Captain Blake reports that the F/V Maverick has fished it’s quota for the King crab season and the crew is headed home today.  Original Productions did indeed film aboard the F/V Maverick and all hope that there was plenty of footage to air so that they may entertain us fans.  Thank you Blake and Scott!  One last note…Captain Blake has been a hard worker for all of his 28 years.  He’s been running both the F/V Maverick and his family’s boat the F/V Evening Star.  As a matter of fact, he’s worked hard enough that he’s decided it’s now time to shop for his own fishing vessel!  It’s true!

  1. Holy crap! Way to go Blake and I hope that he get one that had a decent amount of quota for himself and his crew. I wonder what did Original Productions and Blake do to make sure that he won’t appear as an idot skipper. Or maybe this has to do with the fact of the Empress of the North evac that he did early this year.

  2. I agree with Meg. Way to go Blake. Great job. Look forward to seeing some great moments from you. You are a good skipper and we are proud of you as are the owners. Please take care and stay safe.Look forward to your Jan ventures too.

  3. Way to go Blake and the Mav Crew !!! , Good job .

  4. I’m with Carole and Meg. I hope they make Blake look like the Captain I know he can be. (Though the stunt with Phil pissed me off.)
And I hope he DOES get his own boat. I think he’s earned it.

  5. Great news! I’m looking forward to seeing Blake and the rest of the Maverick crew on season 4. Also, best of luck to Blake on his plans for acquiring his own boat.

  6. I’m glad to hear the Maverick is back for season 4. Maybe we will finally find out what happened when Blake discovered the fish that Sig and Edgar put in the wheelhouse last season. They never showed anything about that in season 3. Could be possible that the Maverick will do a little retaliation back to the Northwestern. It would certainly be amusing to say the least.

  7. Thanks For The update opilia.I really aprechiate your efforts. Thanks a bunch.

  8. You’re welcome Dave! I’m also looking forward to seeing the Maverick and Blake…hope it all goes well for season 4 for those guys.
