Discovery Channel’s “Deadliest Catch” has not only introduced television viewers to the dangers of Bering Sea crab fishing, but it’s made stars of some of the captains and crew members.
An NPR segment notes the show’s subjects “now have to juggle crab fishing with talk show interviews and run-ins with obsessive fans.”
TV Guide has published a photo gallery, and blog sites have cropped up, one of them looking at the possibility that the show will be developed into a video game. “Please make a video game for gods sake i love that show And I love ships,” a poster called dane says.
“Now, really, who would have ever guessed that a bunch of half-crazy, Grundens-clad Bering Sea crabbers would be on store shelves with the likes of ‘The Sopranos,’ ‘Seinfeld’ and Harry Potter?” ADN’s The Highliner blog pondered a few days ago upon discovering some of the shows have been collected into a DVD set.

In the Blog Catch of the Day…. you can see 3 photos of Captain Johnathan Hillstrand posing with a couple of pretty girls… From the expression on his face, I have the sneaky suspicion he’s LOVING every minute of this time in the limelight !!!
